Magnet Recognition Program® Site Visit
Newark-Wayne Community Hospital was designated as a Magnet organization in 2019 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. This prestigious designation recognizes excellence in nursing services. In June 2024, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital is applying for re-designation.
Patients, family members, staff, and interested parties who would like to provide comments are encouraged to do so. Anyone may send comments via e-mail and direct mail. Your comments must be received by the Magnet Program Office by June 16, 2024.

About Newark-Wayne Community Hospital
Newark-Wayne, a 300-bed hospital in Wayne County, offers services including cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics and pulmonary care, as well as an innovative telemedicine program. The hospital has a renovated birthing center and emergency department. Newark-Wayne is a New York State-designated Stroke Center, a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders) Exemplar hospital, and a recent recipient of the WHO Baby-Friendly designation. Rehabilitative and long-term care services are provided through DeMay Living Center, an attached facility.

To ensure that persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, and those who are blind or visually impaired have meaningful access and equal opportunity to healthcare services, programs and information, Rochester Regional Health provides comprehensive language interpreting services that are available within a reasonable period of time and at no cost to the individual or to their authorized representatives.
Non-English Speaking Patients
In-house Spanish Interpreters are available at Newark-Wayne Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 6:30 pm. We will coordinate the services of a professional interpreter (Spanish or other languages) for all in-person interpretation needs.
Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing Patients
American Sign Language Interpreters are on-call and available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Blind or Visually Impaired Patients
Recorder (Linear PCM) devices are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
