About The Provider

Dr. Raj Pyne is a board-certified interventional radiologist who specializes in minimally invasive procedures. He is the Medical Director of the Vein Treatment Center and serves as the Program Director for the Interventional Radiology Residencies as well as the Assistant Program Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency.

Dr. Pyne’s main clinical interests and expertise on the venous side involve treating varicose veins/venous insufficiency, pelvic venous disease/pelvic congestion syndrome, complex IVC filter retrieval, deep venous reconstruction, and venous thromboembolism. On the arterial side, he has expertise and extensive experience with complex AAA endoleak embolization, visceral aneurysm coiling/embolization, peripheral arterial disease, interventional oncology (minimally invasive cancer treatments including Y90 and ablation), AVM treatment, as well as uterine artery embolization. He has been invited to give numerous lectures on various topics at national and international meetings and is involved with multiple ongoing research projects.

Dr. Pyne’s extensive volunteer and leadership experience includes being on the Society of Interventional Radiology’s (SIR’s) Senior Executive Leadership Council, leading SIR’s Private Practice Advisory Committee, and helping to create the new national standardized curriculum for the IR residency. Additionally, he is an Oral Board Examiner for the IR Board Exam and helps write and review questions for the American Board of Radiology’s redesign for online longitudinal assessment of continuing medical education standards. Dr. Pyne was twice voted as the ‘Attending Teacher of the Year’ previously by the residents. He is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology (FSIR).
