If you are in the giving spirit this holiday season but are unsure how your gift could make a difference, we have a few suggestions that might spark some ideas for you.
1. Your gift transforms lives at Rochester Regional Health
When you give to Rochester Regional Health, that gift directly affects the lives of our patients, staff and the community.
For people like Andrew Riesenberger, it makes a world of difference. Andrew, 18, fell and suffered a subdural hematoma. Following an operation to relieve the pressure on his brain, he was transferred to the Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation Center at Unity Hospital. His team of doctors, nurses, and therapists created a family atmosphere that helped him walk, eat, and speak again.
You can read more stories like Andrew’s in our annual Impact newsletter.
2. Inspire advancements in patient care
By making a gift, donors help advance the future of medicine in our region and the care that our patients receive. That support directly impacts the lives of our patients by helping to provide the latest advances in technology, professional training, and medical equipment throughout our facilities.
Each day, we hear exceptional stories from those whose lives have been changed by the care they receive through Rochester Regional Health. That care is made possible by the generosity of our donors. Some of those patients and donors were kind enough to share their stories.
3. Express gratitude for your care and experience
While reflecting on the health journey that you or a loved one experienced, certain caregivers or providers might come to mind.
When you give to Rochester Regional Health, you can honor a caregiver with your donation. This is one way to recognize the dedication and care shown to you or your loved one.
4. Build or preserve a legacy
Some people in our lives leave such a lasting impression that you can’t help but want to share their spirit with others. A donation to Rochester Regional Health is a heartfelt way to carry on the memory of someone close to your heart.
Giving in honor or memory of someone special can help more members of the communities we serve to enjoy a better, healthier life.
5. Support a specific program or service
There may be many reasons why a specific health program, service, or type of technology might be important to you. By designating a donation for that particular area of Rochester Regional Health, you are helping people get the healthcare they need when they need it most.
Whether you feel passionate about heart or cancer care, community programs, long-term care, your local hospital, or any other areas of health care, we can connect you to programs and initiatives that save lives and improve the health of our communities, one person at a time.
6. Donations are tax deductible
As a non-profit health system, any donation to Rochester Regional Health is eligible for tax deduction as long as it is made by December 31.
Patients and providers certainly benefit from the generosity of our donors, but taxpayers are also able to deduct part or all of their contributions on their tax returns when they are filed the following spring.
