Preparing You for Your New Arrival

There are a million questions you may have about your impending arrival, and it is our pleasure to help. We've chosen a few of our most frequently asked questions about birthing centers, providers, and giving birth at a hospital to offer you some peace of mind. We're excited to meet you and your newborn!

Our birth center is a facility within the hospital, giving you unparalleled care from midwives, OBGYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals. We provide family-centered women's health, pregnancy, labor & delivery, postpartum, and newborn services, all in a safe and comfortable setting.

We would love it if you toured our birth center and spoke with our staff before you make your decision. In non-pandemic times, we regularly host tours, which you can sign up for online. You can also do a virtual tour, or call and speak to our team to ask them any questions you may have.

Since we are a part of Rochester Regional Health, we do accept insurance. Please check with your insurance provider or our receptionists to ensure that we accept your specific insurance coverage.

Since we are a birth center located within Unity Hospital, we are equipped and ready to manage any emergency. You and your baby will be closely monitored every step of the way, our experienced providers keeping an eye out for early signs of complication. If any emergencies arise, the appropriate specialists will be ready to help in no time.

The great part of being located within one of the region's top-rated hospitals is all the technology we have at our fingertips. Every step of the way, you'll receive phenomenal care and have the best available machines and technology used.

Usually, we do not limit visitors to the August Family Birth Center. But, given the COVID-19 pandemic, our visitors are more restricted than usual. We apologize for the inconvenience and cannot wait to welcome your family members and loved ones back into the hospital soon.
