Childbirth Classes & Tours 
Due to COVID-19 , all in-person Childbirth Classes and Tours have been postponed until further notice. Online childbirth and breastfeeding classes are now available for patients who still wish to participate in a class.

What to Expect at Twig Birthing Center

Virtual Tours of Our Twig Birthing Center and Women & Babies Postpartum Care Center

Our brand new, all-private suites at the Twig Birthing Center and our Women & Babies Postpartum Care Center provide comfort for mom, baby, and support persons throughout their entire labor, delivery, and recovery process. Explore these special places for families below.

Twig Birthing Center

Located directly across the hall from the former Twig Birthing Center at Rochester General Hospital and just a few steps away from our postpartum care unit at the Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care, our brand new labor and delivery unit provides an exceptional experience for laboring moms and their support persons. With all-private triage rooms, labor and delivery suites, and on-unit operating rooms in case of c-section, the Twig Birthing Center was designed with our patients? comfort and safety in mind.

Women & Babies Postpartum Care Center Lobby

From the minute you step into the lobby of our new Women & Babies Care Center in the Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care at Rochester General Hospital, you will experience a welcoming, home-like environment that's safe for mom and baby to enjoy their first days post-delivery. Our Women & Babies Care Center is home to a skilled team of obstetricians, neonatologists, pediatricians, and nurse-midwives.

Postpartum Maternity Recovery Room

Explore one of our 20 private, spacious maternity suites, designed to ensure a family-centered environment. Each room contains multiple "rooming-in" amenities so mom and baby can remain together after delivery, as well as a comfortable in-room sleeping area for family and support persons.

NICU Rooms

Our brand new Twig NICU includes 14 private rooms, as well as two "twin rooms" for parents of multiples, with more space and amenities for babies and families. Each room features a couch, bed, and desk space to make it easier and more comfortable for parents to stay with their infants.

Keeping Your Sleeping Baby Safe
Keeping your baby safe while sleeping is very important. Healthy infants can die if they are in an unsafe sleep environment. We help your baby to sleep safely by following our Safe Sleep Initiative. Our birthing centers are nationally certified Gold Sleep Champions.?
